Thomson, Senior Consultant
Gregory M. Thomson is senior consultant who specializes in human resources strategy, executive talent and organization design. He has worked with clients in the manufacturing, power generation, utility, healthcare, spirits, and non-profit sectors.
He took some time out from his own company and was named senior vice president of Human Resources at Owens Corning in late 1994 and remained there until the spring of 1998. While there Human Resource Magazine recognized him for his contribution to the business and the function.
Prior to his consulting career, Greg was the Vice president, Human Resources for Public Service Enterprise Group in Newark New Jersey , one of the nations largest combined gas and electric utilities. He held top-level Human Resources positions at Alexander and Alexander, an insurance brokerage firm, and the General Electric Company working in the Major Appliance, Aircraft Engine, Medical, and Nuclear businesses. He started his HR career at GE joining their training program in Human Resources.
Greg was a charter member of the Center for Human Resources Management at Farleigh Dickinson University . He served as the first Chairman of the board for LearnShare, a consortium of Fortune 200 companies sharing existing training resources and pooling the development costs of new Internet based programs. Greg has presented his ideas and initiatives at numerous conferences and meetings on strategy, change, and the Process Based Organization.
Mr. Thomson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Virginia Polytechnic Institute following his graduation from Staunton Military Academy .
