Charles E. Newton
Charles E. Newton retired after thirty-three years at the Whirlpool Corporation’s Evansville Operation, where he served as Division Controller/Director of Materials, directing the in-plant Quality Assurance function in addition to supporting other local and corporate systems and logistics needs. He served as co-chair of the Labor-Management committee that developed and administered the Division gainsharing program, was a member of the company labor contract negotiating committee, piloted Activity Based Costing (ABC) for the Corporation, and was Worldwide Excellence System (WES) auditor for other Whirlpool divisions.
Mr. Newton benchmarked best practices within Whirlpool North American operations and in other world class operations such as IBM, Saturn, and Ford. He is a Certified Management Accountant and has studied Demand Flow and Business Strategy. His CHRS clients have included International Specialty Products, The Budd Company (Plastics Division), Pitney Bowes, and Carrier Corporation.
